Our Values

We can help our residents’ decision to move to a care home an easy one by providing clear guidance and a compelling, all-inclusive package.

  • All-Inclusive Care Packages:  Having everything included in one, easy-to-understand weekly fee is the foundation of our ethos at Portobello Place.  By removing the stress associated with personal bookkeeping, we let our residents and their families focus on what is important – spending quality time with each other, engaging with new friends and being a part of a varied and stimulating community.  From daily meals to entertainment to wellbeing, everything is taken care of.

  • An expert team of caring indivduals: We care about people; our residents, their friends and relatives and our staff.  All of our employees are hand-picked for their dedication to their role, a naturally compassionate nature and for being the best in the business.  We don’t just look at the carers, we are talking about the chefs, our activities manager, hospitality staff and even an artist-in-residence.  The result is a varied programme of stimulating activity, run by people who love what they do, in a warm and supportive environment, 365 days a year.

Bar/Bistro Manager

Hi – my name is Deborah and I am the Bar Bistro Manager.  I’ve been with Portobello Place since the beginning of it’s journey and have just been promoted to Manager.  I have had many years’ experience in the hospitality industry and my knowledge along with my caring nature work hand in hand to ensure our residents are well taken care of.

Technology and care homes

Harnessing the power of technology is something that we always keen to do if it improves our services, and anything that will add to the lives of our residents is always looked at with open eyes and a keen ear.  Whether it is the digitisation of our care plans and staff training, to the acoustic and pressure monitoring of residents’ rooms – if it helps us provide better services and greater stimulation to our residents then we will always look at what is on offer.

Staying in touch with those we love

Conversation, stimulation and community

Staying in contact with our loved ones is always important and more so as we age. Portobello Place is a community-minded home, knowing that social interaction with friends, family and new people of all ages keeps the mind active and promotes wellbeing.  Our residents are always able to enjoy new ways of communicating, whether it’s in one of our online Zoom quizzes, a spot of karaoke to the more traditional coffee mornings and baby sessions.

Staying in touch physically

Ensuring residents are able to meet in person

Our pioneering spirit and determination to enable our residents was on show during the difficult year endured by all in 2020.  We adopted new strategies very early on in the year to enable the continuity of communication between our residents and their families and have tried to evolve these as the situation changes.

Providing better care through Technology

Providing better care through Technology

Being at the heart of the community
