Equally central to our philosophy of care is our events and activities programme; with full-time Events Managers here at Portobello Place, we’re able to encourage residents and those here for respite and day care to take part in a wide range of activities in our innovative and original schedule, which helps to provide enjoyment, self-confidence and a feeling of accomplishment. After all, here in our care home in Chartridge, it’s all about leading an independent and fulfilling life with a helping hand there when you need it. We even have an 'Artist in Residence' here at Portobello Place residential home, George Boyter, who runs our painting classes!
As Portobello Place is a real home from home, we also encourage friends and family members to join us for regular events and entertainment – we believe loved ones should be as involved as possible, so you’re invited to visit our luxurious care home whenever you’d like to. It’s not far to travel to us from Tring, Chesham, Amersham, Great Missenden, Bovingdon, Beaconsfield or Berkhamsted, so please do come and visit as often as you can; you’re always welcome in our care home in Chartridge.

Creating delicious culinary delights throughout the day for permanent residents and those here for respite care and day care, there's always something tasty on the menu to suit your palate – and there’s plenty of choice, too.
Eating is such a social thing, so we carefully considered not only what our residents like to eat but where; we have created lovely welcoming spaces within Portobello Place care home in Chartridge to enjoy drinks, snacks and meals together, such as dining rooms, lounges and our bar & bistro area. There’s plenty of green space around here at Portobello Place, as our outdoor areas are all landscaped and become a vibrant display of colour in the spring and summer. If you fancy adding to the beauty, then please do! It’s your garden so why not join our gardening club and help shape the look for everyone to enjoy? When the weather is right, outdoor dining and entertainment is at the top of the list of activities – especially when it comes to afternoon tea – and we’re lucky enough to look out onto the Chilterns heading out towards Great Missenden.
